The cigarette high really isn’t very remarkable, and it isn’t like what most people would think. I remember the first time that I lit up a fresh cigarette when I was 19, though. There definitely was a strong high. I felt dizzy and had to sit down. The feeling of the first puff really pulls you into cigarettes, but the feeling never happens again.

So why would someone smoke tons of cigarettes, if the cigarette high is like what a constant sickness feels like? Some people socially smoke just to get that high and feel – well, maybe cool, who knows. There’s an article about it on www.QuitSmokingBro.com.
Well, the people that smoke in order to not feel ill have other motivations within their smoking habits. They enjoy the act of smoking itself. They like the smell and feel of the cigarette against their lips. They enjoy the heat of the smoke entering into their lungs. They like to blow out puffs of thick smoke. That is the allure.
Smokers really aren’t thinking about “getting their fix.” They just want to smoke. Some more than others. All smokers are pleased by the act of smoking itself. But some smokers, such as myself, got a small high out of it. I smoked around 3-5 per day. The nicotine would wear off, and the next cigarette would give me a jolt and a feeling of stimulation.
Cigarettes are very deadly. Do you want to end up with a lung ripped out, or a hole in your neck? Lab mice given nicotine have a 70% chance of getting cancer in some studies. Cigarettes are killers, and the high isn’t worth it at all. You can’t even call it a high, really. It’s just a slight feeling. I would compare moderate use of cigarettes to caffeine – some people feel it, some people don’t. Either way, there isn’t much to feel with caffeine unless you drink too much.
Is there any difference when you chain smoke? Smoking lots of cigarettes doesn’t really do much. Once you puff up, you have your nicotine. Smoking more just pleases the senses, but doesn’t stimulate the body much more or less.
It’s not worth starting to smoke, that’s the basic point here. There’s nothing in it for you. Don’t bother with it, it’s pretty stupid altogether. The cigarette high is nothing like the feeling that one gets when one is healthy. You get pretty sick smoking those things eventually, and you will crave the “high” of not being sick. Being cigarette free is a form of its own high, and worth it.
